Cabinet of Curiosities
Cabinet of Curiosities is a series that explores the relationship between the static nature of the photograph and the ephemeral nature of the subject being photographed. In a rapidly shifting world, objects of wonder that abound in the natural environment are changing and disappearing.
The Cabinet of Curiosities series depicts objects in a manner reminiscent of preserved specimens in a museum. Rather than classifying them taxonomically, inclusion of items in this photographic ‘cabinet of curiosities’ is based instead on aesthetics in order to bring attention to that which is beautiful and vanishing.
